About Us
Sisters in Crime is an international organization founded by Sara Paretsky and other authors to promote the advancement of women mystery writers. Membership is open to all persons who have a special interest in furthering its purposes.

Sisters in Crime was founded in 1986. The purpose of Sisters in Crime shall be “to combat discrimination against women in the mystery field, educate publishers and the general public as to the inequities in the treatment of female authors, raise the level of awareness of their contribution to the field, and promote the professional advancement of women who write mysteries.”

Croak & Dagger is the Albuquerque chapter of Sisters in Crime. We are published authors, aspiring writers, and readers -- bound by our affection for the mystery genre and our support of women who write mysteries.
