DO YOUR COVERS SELL BOOKS? Kris Bock will speak on “Make your book covers work for you.”
Kris plans to show examples of covers that the publisher changed for marketing reasons, plus one where she pushed back on the original cover ideas to get them to try something else. The audience is encouraged to bring their covers and stories of their creation.
Bock has written dozens of mystery, suspense, and romance novels, often with smart, snarky heroines finding adventure (sometimes against their will) in the Southwest. She has worked with several publishers and can give authors useful suggestions on cover designs. This is also a chance to meet an author who has made writing a profitable business.

May 26: A panel will talk about “The Mystery of Memoirs” at 6 pm. The panelist will be Marcia Rosen (author of My Gangster Father and Me!) and Pat Smith Wood (author of “Raising Ruby” which includes material on Ruby’s husband—a successful FBI agent).
